Like what I am seeing from Armstrong so far. . . calm, but strong leadership. He is being methodical and not making moves just to make himself look good. He is making moves now, including not bringing some guys back, in the bottom 6 forwards, then next season and beyond he can work to vastly improve the top 6. Several large contracts expiring after next year so he will be in a position to really improve the team then.

It's all about accountability to Armstrong. He has signed guys that know their role and are good at it. That's accountability and I expect all of his moves will be based on that philosophy.

Since our Larson wouldn't go to Edmonton we should bring Edmonton's Larson to AZ. Send them Goose and Raanta for Larson , a youngster and a pick. Also, let's ship Demers to the Flyers for Scott Laughton and a pick.

Re: Derek Stepan: "(he has a good shot)" Posts definitely fear him.

I'm not really convinced that any of our regular forwards can be said to have a good shot, with possible exception of Conor Garland and Clayton Keller in months immediately following training camp.

I have no problem with GMBA dumping our fourth line and replacing it with what could really be described as a checking line. I'm also fine with Fischer not returning if he decides to hold out. I'll be very interested to see how Lawson Crouse develops this year if he's freed from the responsibility of having to be the sole "tough guy" on the team. I'm also excited to see a healthy Kyle Capobianco in camp. There are two roster slots left, and both seem primed for forwards (with 8 D under one-way contracts, and 3 goalies). One could be Fischer... but who is the other? Hayton? Dryden Hunt? Jan Jenik? Someone else?

Would've been willing to swallow selling some forwards for less then value if we could've brought in better replacements via free agency, but this had to be one of the lamest forward crops in recent memory. Good on Bill for not biting.
