Welcome to the AZ Coyotes Insider newsletter. My plan is to publish stories four to six times per week. By subscribing, you’ll be supporting independent, accountable journalism. Subscribe now so you won’t miss a story. I’ll begin this mailbag with an odd plea. Can we put an end to the acronym GOAT that describes the greatest (player) of all time. The debates are silly and pointless. Besides, LeBron James can’t hold a candle to Michael Jordan. Anybody who thinks he can is probably too young to have witnessed what an assassin Jordan was on the court.
"Don't Cry for Me, Jan Hrdina" was inspired by someone on Pens Twitter's handle. It is not my best effort in my new dream of becoming the Weird Al of sports parody songs (in my early 20s, I dreamed of writing The Great American Novel. In my late 40s, I write proposals at work and bits of parody sports songs when the mood strikes in my spare time).

Don't cry for me, Jan Hrdina.
The truth is you were a Penguin
And a Coyote
And then a Devil
Then a Blue Jacket
At the pro level.

A much better effort was my ode to Christian Fischer, set to "Sister Christian."
Glad I subscribed to your content, a lot of really good stuff in your articles. You missed my question about GMs and offer sheets (I really think they should be used more) but that is probably a bigger topic than a Q/A thread. Maybe a content piece for the podcast?
The trade OEL/Kuemper talk pains me and I look away when it pops up... too soon, I guess. It's been a rough year and I hate that it's come to that; I mean... why are we *here*? (that's both a rhetorical question and a existential one at the same time and you don't have to answer either.) I thought Steve Peters was one of the best video coaches out there - or so it has been said - I'm assuming this was a cost-move, not renewing their contracts? Also, as a former farm-kid I read your goat-tale with some sympathy (although I like goats, sorry...). I have seen some things, man. A cow once swallowed my arm. Right up to the pit. We raised black Angus from birth and I never looked back from enjoying a fine steak or juicy burger after that...
great stuff as always, quite a few responses were the kind I nearly spit my coffee out. Good thing I read these on the weekdays and not after dinner or the coffee might have been a much better and more expensive drink!

Christian Fischer plays ice hockey
He's a forward for the Coyotes
Right wing, they say.
He’s on the ice
for a four-on-four
You know the Yotes
Really want him to score tonight
Or fight.

He's motoring
Toward the other net
Did he get a shot off yet?
It'll be a tip I'll bet.
I need to get out more. Or at all.
I would also settle for Connor McDavid.
Also, this "three year plan" talk is really getting my goat.

Thanks Craig! Always fun to read these.

Do we need a Founding Member funding campaign for Mrs. Rita?
